"Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, send them forth in freedom."
A holistic way to educate children.
We cherish childhood. Our homeschool and youth programs seek to strengthen the organic development of young people’s innate skills and passions through play, nature-based, age appropriate learning, friendship building, and practical handiwork.
Children aren’t meant to be cooped up in classrooms for hours every day. We are shifting from the standard model of institutionalized education and returning to a way that allows freedom for children to be themselves, and fosters propensity to pursue subjects that spark joy in their hearts. Our programs offer an eclectic mix of traditional skills, invaluable experiences, ancestral wisdom, and energetically aligned care in a nurturing, nature-based environment.
In Nature Playgroup, we invite caregivers to deconstruct preconceived notions of what early education "must" look like, while learning with and from their children outdoors in uplifting community.
Starflower Early Childhood co-op blends Waldorf inspiration in an open-ended, soul-nourishing classroom with forest school principles outdoors, while providing caregivers opportunity to learn how to hold Rhythm for young children.
In the North Star Program, experiential learning is our guiding principle, inspiring students with curiosity and spirit while teaching Reverence, Respect, & Responsibility.

Families & Growing
At New Earth Traditions we offer various programs, including parent-child playgroups, homeschool drop-off programs, workshops and events.
Respect
We support respect of nature and all humans, children & adults alike. We follow gentle & respectful methods with all participants.
Nurture
Our space and activities are designed to nurture children in mind, body, and spirit, enlivening all the senses in a loving and thoughtful way.
Readiness
Developmental readiness is key to success. Every child is different, and we aim to support each child where they are, encouraging & never forcing.
Community
A healthy community is built upon meaningful relationships, not only between children, but between families and caregivers as well.
Nature
Regular time in nature supports physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing for all ages. Our programs are held almost entirely outdoors.
Wisdom
Traditional wisdom is largely forgotten. We aim to retain the tradition of passing down knowledge of the natural world to younger generations.
Skills
We guide children in developing life skills, including traditional hand work, cooking, foraging, wild crafting, survival skills and more.
Education
All of our programs support growth in the traditional academic areas through real life, age appropriate experience, never workbooks or drills.
North Star Program
The North Star Program is our core drop-off program for children ranging in age from 5 years old to 12 years old with plans to expand through the teenage years. Children are grouped by age & developmental level for part of each day during their main lessons which are comprised of literary studies, nature studies, life skills, handwork, arts, seasonal activities, festival preparation, and more.
Each day holds ample outdoor time for all students, and the addition of various subject specific enrichment classes like STEM, music, pottery, art class, drama, martial arts, and others round out our days, varying for students depending on days of attendance and age of the student.
All days also include social-emotional learning and provide meaningful connection amongst children of all ages.
Starflower Early Childhood
Starflower Early Childhood is a special soul nourishing place for our younger friends, ages 3-5. Following a regular rhythm of the day and week, this year long drop-off program focuses on the fullness of the seasons, festivals, and building on traditions in harmony with nature and the world around us.
Children in this program thrive learning life skills, though stories, songs, arts and handwork, and sensing the world around them through experiential activities and free play.
Nature Playgroup
In Nature Playgroup, children ages 0-5 accompanied by a parent or caregiver spend the mornings outdoors connecting with other families, building friendships and community. Seasonal circle time, stories, and daily activities anchor the day with ample free play in nature. The day wraps up with a community lunch.
Nature Playgroup enrolls seasonally in Fall, Winter, and Spring.
