We are a group of dedicated faculty and staff committed to providing our students with opportunities for a developmentally nourishing education and dynamic learning while making room for pedagogical flexibility amongst our families

New Earth Traditions is a homeschool enrichment group currently serving students from Pre-K to age 12 with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, hands-on experience intended to enrich families’ homeschool education. We aim to support families and children throughout the entirety of their schooling, cultivating thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, respectful and creative young people.

Early Childhood Lead Teacher

25/26 school year

Join us if you are a Waldorf teacher or teacher in training seeking a part-time position within a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

We seek an individual who:

- Displays a warm and nurturing disposition

-Enjoys building healthy relationships with parents, students, and colleagues

-Has excellent teaching, classroom management, and communication skills

-Possesses a deep understanding of students, their development, learning styles, and needs

-Is self-directed, creative, artistic, collaborative, as well as knowledgeable of and inspired by Waldorf education

-Prioritizes personal work, personal and professional growth, and overall health

-Has the ability to teach and help foster young children’s development with the understanding that young children learn primarily through imitation.

Required Credentials:

- Commitment to and experience in working with mixed age (3-5 year old) early childhood students.

- Waldorf teacher certification, or Waldorf classroom experience and interest and willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy.

- Ability to pass criminal and child abuse background checks.

- CPR/ First Aid Certified

Position Expectations:

- Prepare a developmentally-appropriate Waldorf program and rhythm for indoors and outdoors in mixed age class (3-5 year olds) by preparing and leading daily activities such as bodily care, circle, imaginative play, story & puppetry, handcrafts, painting, practical home-like activities, snack, and outdoor free play and activities.

-Participate in all-school and festival activities and events

- Cultivate strong relationships with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, parent enrichment meetings, and end of year reports.

- Maintains positive relationships with parents and responds to concerns

- Develop and maintain a safe, harmonious, and nurturing environment for the children to learn and develop.

- Guiding and redirecting children’s behavior while maintaining self-esteem.

- Develop and maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment

- Presents a professional image, worthy of imitation

- Maintain positive relationships with parents and responds to all parent concerns

- Maintain positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns

- Engage in on-going professional and personal growth

- Fulfill other duties, as assigned, relative to the job responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities

Train and oversee work of the assistant teacher and provide on-going mentoring as pertains to class

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, teacher is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The teacher must frequently lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Location:

On campus at New Earth Traditions Homeschool Enrichment, Pottstown, PA 19465.

Hours:

This is a FTE < 0.50 position. The hours of the school day are 8:30a.m.-3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from mid-September through May, with scheduled holiday breaks throughout. In addition, teachers attend regular staff meetings and periodic development training as well as some evening and weekend meetings/events. Time commitments also include parent/teacher correspondence. Teachers are responsible for planning and preparing, setting up, and cleaning up planned class activities with the help of a teacher’s assistant and community volunteers.

Compensation:

Commensurate with level of education, experience, and select professional development training.

Early Childhood Class Assistant

25/26 school year

Join us for the 2025/26 school year if you are a compassionate care provider or teacher's assistant seeking a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

We seek and individual:

- Experience in caring for children in the 3-5 year old range

-Who enjoys building healthy relationships with parents, students, and colleagues

- Who has excellent communication skills, ability to take direction, and willingness to learn

- Who possesses the confidence to be a strong support to our lead teacher

- Who is self-directed, collaborative, and quick & efficient in completing tasks

- Who prioritizes personal work, growth, and overall health

Required Credentials:

Interest and willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy. Ability to pass and obtain criminal and child abuse background checks and clearances. 

Desired Skills and Experience:

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues. Strong and gentle demeanor in the classroom. CPR/ First Aid Certified

Hours:

This is a FTE < 0.5 position. The hours of the school day are 9:00a.m.-3:00 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from mid-September 2025 through May 2026, with scheduled holiday breaks throughout. In addition, assistants attend regular staff meetings and development training, as well as some evening and weekend meetings/events. Assistants are responsible for understanding and preparing for upcoming lessons, setting up and cleaning up planned class activities, as well as holding the culture of the classroom and assisting children and the lead teacher as needed.

Nature Playgroup Lead

25/26 school year

Join us for the 2025/26 school year if you are a compassionate care provider seeking a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

We seek and individual:

- Experience in caring for children in the 0-5 year old range (though all parents stay for this group)

-Who enjoys creating and sharing engaging circle times with finger plays and songs, reading & telling stories, and leading simple nature crafts

- Who has excellent communication skills, ability to take direction, and willingness to learn

- Who possesses the confidence to hold the container for the group of parents & their children

- Who is self-directed, collaborative, and quick & efficient in completing tasks

- Who prioritizes personal work, growth, and overall health

Required Credentials:

- Interest and willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy.

- Ability to pass and obtain criminal and child abuse background checks and clearances. 

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.

- Strong and gentle demeanor.

- Hold the space for the parent & child nature playgroup

- Lead engaging circle time including seasonal songs, finger plays, etc.

- Lead story time using memorized seasonal stories, books, or puppets

- Prepare and guide, when needed, seasonal crafts and activities

- Be a knowledgable resource for parents on parenting and child related topics

- Present a professional image, worthy of imitation

- Maintain positive relationships with parents and responds to all parent concerns

- Maintain positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns

- Assist with set up and clean up of nature playgroup

- Fulfill other duties, as assigned, relative to the job responsibilities

Hours:

The hours for the Nature Playgroup Lead are 10:00a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesdays from mid-September through December 2025, and March through May 2026, with scheduled holiday breaks throughout.
