New Earth Traditions is a homeschool enrichment group currently serving students from Pre-K to age 14 with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, hands-on experience intended to enrich families’ homeschool education. We aim to support families and children throughout the entirety of their schooling, cultivating thoughtful, emotionally intelligent, respectful and creative young people.

Starlight Class Assistant Teacher

Position: Mixed age K-1 Assistant Teacher (2026-2027)

Hours: Class time 9:30-2:30, M-Th, Mid-September-May (32 weeks total) plus set up, clean up

Pay: commensurate with experience

Location: Pottstown, PA 19465

Join us if you are an experienced caregiver or teacher in training seeking a part-time position within a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

New Earth Traditions Homeschool Enrichment is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted assistant teacher, knowledgeable in the ideals of Waldorf education, who would like to join a vibrant, eclectic, and connected homeschool community.

We seek an individual who:

- Displays a warm and nurturing disposition

- Enjoys building healthy relationships with parents, students, and colleagues

- Has experience with groups of children ages 5-7 years old.

- Is self-directed, creative, artistic, collaborative, as well as knowledgeable of and inspired by Waldorf education.

- Prioritizes self-work, personal and professional growth, and overall health.

- Has the ability to take direction from the lead teacher.

Required Credentials:

- Commitment to and experience in working with mixed age (5-7 year old) K-1 students.

- Waldorf classroom experience and interest and willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy. 

- Ability to pass criminal and child abuse background checks. 

- CPR/ First Aid Certified

Position Expectations:

- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and executing developmentally-appropriate Waldorf lesson, activities, and rhythm for indoors and outdoors in mixed age class (5-7 year olds). Daily activities will include things like circle, imaginative play, story & puppetry, handcrafts, painting, practical home-like activities, snack, and outdoor free play and activities.

- Participate in all-school and festival activities and events

- Cultivate relationships with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and parent enrichment meetings.  

- Maintain positive relationships with parents and responds to concerns in a way that is supportive of the needs of the lead teacher.

- Develop and maintain a safe, harmonious, and nurturing environment for the children to learn and develop. Guiding and redirecting children’s behavior while maintaining self-esteem.

- Develop and maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment

- Presents a professional image, worthy of imitation

- Maintains positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns

- Fulfills other duties, as assigned, relative to the job responsibilities

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the assistant teacher is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The assistant teacher may frequently lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Class 1 Academics Teacher

Position: Class 1 Academics Teacher (2026-2027)

Hours: Class time may vary, *9:30-11:00, M-Th, Mid-September-May (32 weeks total) plus set up, clean up

Pay: commensurate with experience

Join us if you are an experienced Waldorf teacher or teacher in training seeking a part-time position within a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

New Earth Traditions Homeschool Enrichment is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted Class 1 academics teacher, knowledgeable in the ideals of Waldorf education and specifically Waldorf Class 1 curriculum, who would like to join a vibrant, eclectic, and connected homeschool community.

Willing to provide Class 1-specific Waldorf teacher training for the right candidate.

We seek an individual who:

- Displays a warm and nurturing disposition

- Enjoys building healthy relationships with parents, students, and colleagues

- Has experience teaching Class 1 academic material, specifically literacy & mathematics.

- Is self-directed, creative, artistic, collaborative, as well as knowledgeable of and inspired by Waldorf education.

- Prioritizes self-work, personal and professional growth, and overall health.

- Has the ability to work collaboratively with the Starlight class's lead teacher and class assistant.

Required Credentials:

- Commitment to and experience in working with Class 1 students (ages 6.5-7.5).

- Waldorf teacher certification, or Waldorf classroom experience and interest and/or willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy. 

- Ability to pass criminal and child abuse background checks. 

- CPR/ First Aid Certified

Position Expectations:

- Class 1 Academics Teacher will prepare and execute Waldorf class 1 academic lessons and activities for a small group of students (up to 10). Daily lessons should incorporate things like circle, story, movement, and art into academic introduction.

- Cultivate relationships with parents through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and parent enrichment meetings.  

- Prepare guidance for parents to continue academic lessons through to home-life with their kids.

- Develop and maintain a safe, harmonious, and nurturing environment for the children to learn and develop. Guiding and redirecting children’s behavior while maintaining self-esteem.

- Develop and maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment.

- Presents a professional image, worthy of imitation.

- Maintains positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns.

Join us if you are an experienced caregiver, teacher, or teacher in training with knowledge of/experience in Waldorf education seeking a part-time position within a community of dedicated teachers and supportive families.

New Earth Traditions Homeschool Enrichment is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted floating Co-Teacher, knowledgeable in the ideals of Waldorf education and classroom management who would like to join a vibrant, eclectic, and connected homeschool community. This floating co-teacher would share their skills, knowledge, and wisdom in collaboration with and in support of the other teachers in the Starlight (5-7 year olds) and North Star (8-14 year olds) classes as determined by a specific schedule and needs of each class.

We seek an individual who:

- Displays a warm and nurturing disposition

- Enjoys building healthy relationships with parents, students, and colleagues

- Has experience managing groups of children ranging from ages 5-14

- Is self-directed, creative, artistic, collaborative, as well as knowledgeable of and inspired by Waldorf education.

- Prioritizes self-work, personal and professional growth, and overall health.

- Has the ability to work collaboratively with the Starlight and North Star classes' lead teacher and class assistant and take direction from the lead teachers when appropriate.

Required Credentials:

- Commitment to and experience in working with children ages 5-14.

- Willingness to participate in self-led learning and guided teacher development training in the Waldorf/Steiner pedagogy. 

- Ability to pass criminal and child abuse background checks. 

- CPR/ First Aid Certified

Position Expectations:

- The Floating Co-Teacher will assist with preparing, executing, and in some instances guiding, lessons and activities. Daily lessons will cover topics including but not limited to cooking, handwork, art, herb-crafting, seasonal activities, festival preparation, research projects, circle, story, movement, and more.

- Develop and maintain a safe, harmonious, and nurturing environment for the children to learn and develop. Guiding and redirecting children’s behavior while maintaining self-esteem.

- Maintain a clean, orderly classroom environment

- Presents a professional image, worthy of imitation

- Maintains positive, professional relationships with colleagues and responds to all collegial concerns
